I am fascinated by the spectacular diversity of Chordata and am investigating the evolutionary mechanisms that have created them. My research primarily involves bioinformatical analyses of genomic data, often at the interface of population genetic and ghylogenetic. Our study results include insights to

• Evolution of supergenes of cod
• Driver of the massive adaptive radiation of cichlids
• Evolution of color vision in deep-sea squids
• Origin of the Italian sparrow hybrid species
• Maintaining species boundaries of hybridising species

In an ongoing project I am investigating the explosive diversification of ice fishes in antarctical seas, a rare phenomen for the process of adaptive radiation.
